Reflective Statement on Criteria A, B and C

A) I believe my performance in Douglas County Schools is outstanding in the area of assessment and instruction because I continually strive to use only the best and most useful technology with our teachers at ThunderRidge High School. As an Instructional Computer Resource Teacher, I used a Needs Assessment survey (TRHS ETIL SURVEY) to determine staff knowledge, equipment needs and training needs with respect to technology. We have led numerous trainings this year (Animoto, email tips and tricks, garage band, google apps, and many many more!). As I instruct my trainings, I use a variety of assessments (google surveys, clicker responses) to demonstrate and model best practices. I also have used google apps spreadsheets and well wisher to model visible thinking during trainings.

B) I believe my performance is outstanding in the knowledge of content and pedagogy because I am always learning more about new technologies, and how to introduce and implement them with our staff. I was a member of the district group that created the CIA guides for ETIL and am also a member of the ETIL Acadmey Cadre that was formed this school year. I have attended numerous CRT meetings on topics ranging from Web Site Implementation to iWork software use in the classroom. I have also taught two different skill block courses being offered by our district (“Questioning with CPR” and “Using Technology in the Secondary Classroom”) in the past. I am the chair of our school’s Technology Integration Committee as well as an Infinite Campus Building Coach. I am our department chair and PLC coordinator. One of the most valuable learning experiences I had this year was leading a study group for Digital Educator Mentees from TRHS and RVMS. My goal as an iCRT is to remain on the cutting edge of tools that can be effectively integrated at our school.

C) I believe my performance in Douglas County Schools is outstanding in the area of collaboration because I work very closely with Bill Bradley, Janet VanZant/Kim Harhigh, Paula Busey and Donna Hoffner to make sure our school is fulfilling ETIL requirements as well as advancing the technology knowledge of our staff. I also collaborate on a daily basis with at least 5 of our staff members (on average). I have also worked collaboratively with every department this year by managing our Technology Integration Committee. At the district level, I have worked closely with Kim McMonagle, Liz Walhof, Kelly Sain (Ranch View), Jen Harris (Highlands Ranch) and to talk about ETIL implementations that are upcoming in our district. At the district level, I am an active member of our ETIL Academy Cadre which is the group that drives the discussions and implementation of ETIL issues and needs.
